Subject:Clarification regarding the LinkedIn page “World Strength Sports Federation (WSSF)”
This statement is issued in response to the appearance of information that misleads the public regarding the origin and activities of the so-called “World Strength Sports Federation (WSSF)”.
The World Strongman International Union (WSM) hereby declares that it has no affiliation or connection whatsoever with the above-mentioned page or any entity using the name World Strength Sports Federation (WSSF).
A review of open sources, including major search engines, Wikipedia, and LinkedIn, revealed no verified information regarding any legal registration, national members, sporting events, or official recognition of this entity in sports registries.
Claims that WSSF “has been operating since 2023” are not supported by official records or verified evidence and, by their presentation, raise reasonable doubts regarding authenticity.
Official databases — including AIMS, SportAccord, the Dubai Sports Council, and the UAE Ministry of Economy (MOEC) — contain no record, license, or accreditation under the name World Strength Sports Federation (WSSF).
Any references implying an association between WSSF and the Strongman discipline are not supported by facts and are not reflected in recognized sports registries.
Since 2003, the World Strongman International Union (WSM) has been the international organization developing and institutionalizing the discipline of “Strongman” as a new sport at the global level.
The Union cooperates with recognized international organizations, including the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) — in developing the Para-Strongman discipline, and the International Testing Agency (ITA) — in implementing anti-doping standards, while carrying out preparatory work toward the recognition of Strongman as a new international sport.
All official communications, events, and partnerships related to the Strongman discipline are conducted exclusively through World Strongman International Union (WSM) — https://strongmansport.org.
